Your position.
Your permission.
This website and petition are organized by the West Virginia Spirits Council. Contact the organizer with questions, corrections or removal requests.
Information collected
The signing form collects business name, type, street address, town, county, signer name, role, email, optional phone, optional license number and optional business statement. We also record your consent choices, the petition version and text you signed, submission time, review status, internal review notes and organizer notification delivery status.
Contact messages collect your name, email, topic and message. Please do not send government identity documents, payment information or unrelated sensitive details.
How information is used
- To record your business’s petition position, check eligibility and authority, prevent duplicate counting and follow up when necessary.
- To provide the petition to West Virginia lawmakers, including your signed statement, name, role, business information and signing date, as authorized in the form.
- To display aggregate numbers of verified locations by county and statewide.
- To publish business recognition only when you opt in.
- To handle questions, corrections, withdrawals, deletion requests and website abuse.
What is public
With your optional permission, your business name, type, town, county, signing date and optional statement can appear on this website after approval. Your personal name, email, phone, street address and license number are not included in the public list. Aggregate counts include approved locations even if their names remain private. Public information may be copied by other visitors.
Access and service providers
The organizer can access petition and contact records through a restricted review area. The website uses OpenAI Sites hosting and Cloudflare infrastructure to store and serve the site and its data. Hosting providers may process technical request logs needed to operate and secure the service.
Application abuse controls use a short-lived, keyed hash of the request IP address rather than storing the raw IP in the petition database. These rate-limit records expire and are cleared on later requests. Optional organizer sign-in uses ChatGPT authentication. Signing the petition requires no visitor account.
When signup notifications are enabled, Resend sends the organizer an alert with a submission reference and a link to the private dashboard. The alert does not include the signer’s name, contact details, business information or statement. Resend processes the organizer’s email address and message delivery information.
Cookies and analytics
The petition does not use advertising or analytics trackers. The hosting service may use cookies for authentication or security. Google Fonts is used to load the site’s typography; requests to that service include normal browser connection information.
Keeping and removing records
Petition records are kept for campaign administration and documenting what was signed. You can withdraw using the private receipt link shown after submission. Withdrawal removes the location from public counts and any public listing; a private record remains to document the withdrawal.
To request corrections or deletion of personal details, use the contact form. After confirming the request, the organizer can remove identifying fields while retaining restricted review history for accountability. The organizer will not intentionally sell your contact information or enroll you in unrelated marketing.
Your receipt link
The private receipt link gives access to the submission’s status and withdrawal control. Keep it private. No automatic confirmation email is sent at launch. If you lose the link, contact the organizer.
Changes to the petition
Your signature stays attached to the wording and permissions you agreed to. It will not be transferred to a different policy statement. Materially different petition wording requires a new agreement.
